So you know you need corporate Christmas gifts – you’ve even narrowed the field down to personalised chocolate boxes (so clearly you have great taste!) We offer FOUR different branding choices so there’s bound to be one that suits you. But choosing the best option is essential if you’re to get the biggest bang for your buck, so how to choose? Read our guide to find out!
1 – Printed Boxes
For order volumes below 1000 units, using one print colour only, we usually apply the foil printing method. In this process, a metal blocking die is made from your design so that the logo or message is raised, appearing as a mirror image. Pressure is applied to the block during the printing process, so that the coloured foil is impressed on to the chocolate box.
The Upside: Foil printing can achieve impressive results in one colour – especially with metallic foils. It’s also cost-effective at low order volumes. A popular choice for table gifts and promotional giveaways, especially in the one and two-chocolate box size.
The Downside: The required lead time is longer than with digital printing, the foil colour range is limited and printing in two or more colours adds significantly to the unit cost because each colour is applied separately. In addition, foil printing isn’t suitable for logos with fine details or graduated effects such as shadows and we can’t match to pantone colours.
2 – Printed Gift Cards
For this method we add a satin ribbon (from a choice of colours) and full colour printed gift card to produce a highly economical branding option, especially at low volumes. It’s cost-effective because we print digitally, so your logo or brand can be featured on one side of the card, with message or greeting on the reverse, in full colour at no extra cost. We offer printed gift cards sized to fit most boxes across all our ranges, from a mini size (suitable for a two-chocolate box) up to postcard size (for a large, sharing box). Unit prices include the appropriate gift card size for each product and are based on you providing print ready artwork. If you cannot provide print ready artwork we can prepare it for you for a small charge, and send you a pdf proof for approval.
The Upside: Digital printing means that our gift cards can be produced quickly and economically in full-colour, even at low volumes. Recipients can retain or pass on the card too, so there’s the opportunity for your brand and message to reach a wider audience and stay in circulation for longer. A popular choice for marketing events, product launches and client gifting as the card is used in place of a standard business card. And with the CMYK print process, a near-exact or exact match to pantone colours can usually be achieved.
The Downside: Digital printing cannot achieve metallic colours or embossed lettering.
3 – Printed Sleeves
Our printed sleeves offer maximum impact for your logo or message. Like our printed gift cards, they’re digitally printed so they’re economical, even at reasonably low volumes, and the turnaround time is fast too. Our sleeves are sized to fit our premium and executive range boxes. We will provide your graphic designer with a design template to help with the preparation of print ready artwork. If you cannot provide print ready artwork, you may find our pre-designed sleeve range an attractive alternative.
The Upside: Printed sleeves can be produced quickly and economically in full-colour, even at low volumes. They offer maximum impact for your brand or logo and we can even print your website or email address on the sides of the sleeve, making the most of the available print area. And with the CMYK print process, a near-exact or exact match to pantone colours can usually be achieved. This branding option is ideal when you want to shout your message loud and clear!
The Downside: As with our printed gift card range, digital printing cannot achieve metallic colours or embossed lettering. Printed sleeves are slightly costlier to produce than printed gift cards, however, as there is more material involved in the printing process.
4 – Printed Transparent Labels
Our most economical printing option as we print your labels in-house on our high quality laser printers. There’s no minimum order quantity and they’re cost-effective at any order quantity – even 10! And because we print them in-house, the turnaround time is fast too. If you think that labels are a boring option, think again. With a satin ribbon for added presentation this range can look truly stunning, and at a fraction of the cost of full colour printed boxes.
The Upside: Printed labels can be produced quickly and economically in full-colour, at even the lowest quantities (such as 10 boxes!) A great way to create the effect of a full colour printed box at low cost. We can even add a ribbon (from a choice of colours) to complement your logo or theme. We recommend this branding option for very low order quantities and/or employee gifts, where exact brand colour matching takes a lower priority to the message itself.
The Downside: We cannot precisely match pantone colours with this method as our labels are digitally printed. Sometimes the colours are very close; at other times less so. For this reason we test-print some labels before agreeing to this print method, to ensure we can produce an acceptable logo colour match.
